The Honeywell 5821 & FB-280R is a kit that includes a 5821 wireless transmitter and a T280R temperature probe detector. The 5821 sensor with the FB-T280R it will act as a temperature probe detector. Keep in mind, the 5821 sensor can be configured to operate as either a Temperature Sensor or Flood Detector. It can only do one selected function at a time plus cold sensing, yielding two simultaneous functions maximum. When either the external temperature probe or the water sensor is used, internal heat or warm sensing is disabled. Cold room sensing operation can be used in combination with any of the other operating modes.
Ideally suited for applications including bathrooms, laundry rooms and basements, the 5821 helps protect against temperature fluctuations and flood conditions. The versatile device can be configured to operate as a standalone temperature sensor and/or a remote temperature sensor or flood detector. Fully compatible with Honeywell Total Connect® Remote Services, it can send users email or text message alerts when detecting floods or extreme temperatures so they can take action to minimize and avert damages.
The Honeywell T280R is a temperature probe intended for use with Honeywell 5821, T280 or TS300 sensors. The T280ZR probe is used to detect temperatures remotely from its main temperture sensor. The T280R features a resistance value of the probe at both extremes: -55C: 9,637,300 ohms. +25°C: 100,000 ohms. +50°C: 36,024 ohms. +150°C: 1,861 ohms. Accuracy: 0.2° C or 32.36°F.
To mount the T280R or TS300R, it can be extended for 15' up to 300' max. using shielded 24AWG or larger cable. Insure shield is grounded for noise immunity. Any other gauge wire at any distance longer than specified can cause unpredictable results. The only difference between the TS300R and T280R is that the TS300R comes with a mounting strap and screw to secure the probe in place and T280R does not.
The Honeywell 5821 & FB-280R kit is capable of monitoring cold (45°F) temperature. This transmitter operates on a 7-digit serial number and a loop number that must be programmed into a wireless zone in the control. When it senses a fault condition, it will send a fault signal to the control. Restores are handled depending on operating mode and current environmental conditions.
The T280R probe is water-resistant, meaning it will tolerate some water. It is not waterproof. It cannot be submerged.
Product Features:
2-zones
Five selectable temperature ranges to choose from (hot, warm, cold, refrigerate and freeze)
Remote Temperature Probe available (T280R) ideal for refrigerator and freezer monitoring
Up to 10 year battery life, which reduces user maintenance
Completely wireless, which greatly reduces installation time and maximizes placement options
Capable of monitoring cold (45°F) temperature and flood detection simultaneously
