  • ProSeries PROSiXC2W Product Description:

The Resideo Honeywell Home PROSiXC2W is a Hardwired-to-SiX Wireless Converter that enables retrofitting existing 12-volt security systems by converting their wired sensors to SiX wireless technology. The PROSiXC2W converter is compatible with the ProSeries PROA7, ProSeries PROA7C, ProSeries Canada PROA7CN, ProSeries PROA7PLUS, ProSeries PROA7PLUSC or ProSeries Canada PROA7PLUSCN all-in-one wireless touchscreen control panels. Converting existing wired zones to wireless saves on installation cost, time and materials since there is no need to replace wired devices with individual transmitters.

The PROSiXC2W provides 8 hardwired zones with end-of-line resistor protection. You can use the PROSiXC2W with existing door/window contacts, motion detector PIRs, glassbreaks and other 12V sensors. Please note, the PROSiXC2W is not for use with fire, heat or CO sensors. It is recommended that any existing smoke, heat or CO detectors be replaced with new SiX-Series detectors. Only two devices may be powered using the auxiliary output on the PROSiXC2W. It provides 24-hour battery backup (4-hour if external devices are connected).

The converter will immediately send a power loss signal to the controller in the event the power is lost. When no battery is connected to the PROSiXC2W, a low battery message sends to the control panel. Also, when the battery is connected, and if battery voltage drops below 3.6VDC, a low battery message sends to the control panel. When only the battery is connected, and if the battery voltage is 3.4VDC, the system shuts down.

In addition, the PROSiXC2W can be used in new construction installations that have been fitted with hardwired systems. The PROSiXC2W is simple to install and extremely flexible. It can power wired PIRs, and the included power supply is backup up with a standard rechargeable battery. One button calibration automatically configures PROSiXC2W by learning what zones are in use. The setup of the converter is a three step process. First, mount and wire the module. Next, calibrate/activate the module zones. Lastly, enroll the module's wireless zones into the control panel.

The calibration process enables the PROSiXC2W to learn what zones are to be active and what value EOL resistors are used. The zone wiring and connections must be completed before calibration. If there is an existing resistor, it must have a value between 1K and 10K. The unit comes with eight (8) 2.2K resistors for zones that don't have one. Unused zones that are open are not recognized and reported. Before beginning, ensure all zones are connected and not faulted. During calibration, if the PROSiXC2W loses both AC and battery backup power, the zone calibration data is retained. Once the converter is calibrated, any change in the zone resistance will result in the module having to be re-calibrated again.

After enrolling, verify adequate signal strength by conducting a sensor test with the device in its intended mounting location. Adjust the device location and orientation as necessary. Once enrolled in a system, the PROSiXC2W cannot be used with another controller until it is removed from the current controller. If the device is enrolled in a panel different than the intended panel, and you are unable to delete it from the unintended panel, reset default the device to factory default setting. This procedure is available for 24 hours after enrollment with a panel and the device remains powered (battery installed).

The PROSiXC2W reports to the control panel if a low battery or tamper condition exists on the module. This is shown as a trouble on the control. The first battery test occurs 1 hour after power up. To quickly verify a good backup battery, unplug and then plug back in the power supply; the system will perform a battery test within 1 minute. The maximium distance between the power supply and PROSiXC2W is as follows; #18 wire gauge has 350 ft. wire length, #20 wire gauge has 200 ft. wire length, #22 wire gauge has 125 ft. wire length. All zones must have an EOL resistor.
